Some black groups are accepted, such as the NAACP, and some are not, like the Black Panthers.

The only white group that I know of, the KKK, is not looked kindly upon by society, for the same reason that the Black Panthers and other militant minority rights groups are not looked upon kindly by society.

Church of Jesus Christ–Christian - while peaceful teach very racist views on ethnic groups.

White Student Union - Students group for white rights, protests but has not shown terrorist acts such as the KKK. Many get slammed down by university heads quickly.
Retorting that such groups are illegal for being racist is holding a double standard. Almost every university has an LSU (Latin Students Union) and a BSU (Black Students Union) and those are not considered racist, yet a WSU would be considered racist.

European-American Unity and Rights Organization - Equal rights for White Americans, particularly through an end to affirmative action. Tougher sentencing for violent crime, alongside the repealing of hate crime legislation.

Neo-Confederates - Beliefs concern themselves strongly with the issues of race including opposition to the modern civil rights movement. neo-Confederates is that the Republican party was involved with a communist conspiracy from the time of Abraham Lincoln. fact remains, sotomayor got pushed into her position because of her race, not because she was the best person for the job.

She seems to be quite qualified. I don't think anyone, including the republicans on the committee are disputing her qualifications. She's no Harriet Myers. So if she, and dozens of other white, black, hispanic, asian & other men & women are also qualified, why not try to elevate some groups of our society that haven't always had a fair shake?

The biggest thing behind trying to keep Soto from a seat, IMHO, is that she is Obama's pick. The Dems haven't gotten to pick anyone for quite sometime and they really want their pick to get in. Soto is a qualified judge, I give her that, but she is too much of a liability. The country as a whole, not by race and not by group, is how she needs to see things. She has in fact shown that she sees opposite, she sees specific races from specific backgrounds have different traits and do things differently, etc. which conflicts with her judgments even when she tries to claim it doesn't. She isn't biased towards her own race, but towards the "minorities" as a whole. In the fire fighter case, which thankfully was overturned, she sided with the group of blacks which were opposed by the group of whites and 1 Hispanic. The test was valid, she sided with the race that seemed under privileged.

Her qualifications are fine, its judgment that matters. If she is going to be a justice that has cases come to her and decide with her own personal feelings or by the word of the law. Personal feeling is a good thing to have, but law is law and in court law rules and personal feeling should only have circumstance when a law is being fought against. Say someone takes 2nd amendment to court to have it stricken from the Constitution, *and the process blah blah ...its hypothetical*, she is a known adversary to gun rights. She personally believes either we should not own guns or we should have major restriction. In this case she would side not have guns, or so I take it from what I have read on her views. She should listen to her personal feelings, but the Constitution isn't something to tamper with. So she can decide eliminate 2nd amendment and gun rights, at the expense of dismantling America. I can go on with hypothetical s and receive heavy flak while I am at it, but they are hypothetical s, always arguable. Bottom line, shes gonna get confirmed and we will see how shes does.

If only my point was that "communist" can only be an insult if 1) it isn't in some way factually descriptive and 2) communism is a stupid failure and its ideals ought not be applied in the US government and economy except the advocate wants to ruin it. Oh wait, it was.
