Here is my plan for eating/drinking tonight:

1 liter coffee (cafe du monde, french press prepared)
3 lbs bacon
8 eggs (half scrambled, half soft-boiled)
4 slices bread (toasted)

Sadly I could probably eat/drink that myself, except only 1 lb of bacon.

I find that cafe du monde coffee is too bitter when prepared by drip/percolator.

French press operates at 90-95C and prevents the alkaloids from getting too strong.

I really like the thick cut smoked bacon I bought from a butcher and smoke house in a little town off highway 395 on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. They talk the whole pork belly with the skin still on it and then they slowly smoke the whole thing with real hard wood smoke then they let the whole thing age on that meat hook in the smoke house for a week or so. There is virtually no moisture left in the thing then they thick slice it and pack it for sale. Its so old fashioned plus the flavor just can't be beat; we're talking the most intense tasting bacon I've ever had. It so beats the water logged crap you buy at the super market.

You put it in a hot pan though and the fat just liquefies up leaving crispy smoky bacon with the most intense pork flavor imaginable.
