Actually I think it would probably be a bit skewed towards hetersexual since I assume evolution would reward it a bit more. But both the genetics and the environmental factors (BTW by environment I don't mean cultural influences) going into this are complex (otherwise studies would have determined the exact cause)

If you have -1 as hetero, 0 as asexual and +1 as homosexual, you won't get a gaussian distribution. Gaussian distributions have means either very close to 0, or 0.

Secondly, as Kuci already said, they have to be linearly dependent on each other. Going from 100 percent heterosexual to 100 percent gay is a linearly dependent spectrum. Hetero-asexual-homosexual is in no way linearly dependent upon each other.

A better analogy would be to say that sexual/asexual is an entirely different spectrum, whereas homosexuality/heterosexuality is another spectrum.

What you would do if you wanted to test this is poll people based on their sexual experiences and then plot them. The only way to get anything close to a gaussian is to have lesbians and gay people on opposite ends. 100 percent men/men to 50 percent men/men and 50 percent women/women, to 0 percent men/men 100 percent men/women, 50 percent women/women 50 percent women/men, 0 percent men/women 0 percent.

And I'm not convinced it would be a gaussian.
