KH, I think your problem is that the search is inside the picture. You aren't the target audience of Bing. Bing seems to me more directed at the arts people. Ironically, the gray stuff on the outside is a horrible implementation.

As far as I can see, it's interesting that Google/Wikipedia symbiosis is actually harmful to their search results. For me when I use Google, I usually go to about item number 5 or so on the search list. The top link, almost always is inferior.

BTW, the bing.com fare predictor and fare history feature for flights is pretty awesome. Don't know of something like this elsewhere: http://www.bing.com/travel/

Google is far more helpful for researching powershell variables within a sed script containing escaped double-quotes. The other fella only manages a puny SIX responses, including GEMS such as "Find Local Approved Contractors. Get and Compare up to 5 Free Quotes" Google had THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE. These include several articles on the first page alone that look quite relevant, apart from the fact that I don't want to be reading them now because I'm not at work and I should either be going to bed or DRINKING BEER AND PLAYING CIV.

Bling did at least provide a link to the PowerShell user guide. Which was nice, but it only has two references to double-quotes, one of which was hyphenated and the other not. Don't these people publishing MS documentation use A STYLE GUIDE?

I did a search with my name. Google gave me 10 of my papers yahoo came second with about 7 and Bing a dismal 3rd with 4.

Anyway, Google was winning for me, yes it has less variety, but more of what I am looking for and that's what a search engine should do.

I searched for Civilization fyi, Google gave me the popular sites, Yahoo gave me many different sites with different purposes of Civilization and Bing gave me a mix of the two, but I still prefer Google's because I don't care about the definition of Civilization.
