6. Merge the Sports and Technology forums.
Definitely keep the sports forum. I'd prefer to keep the tech forum as well. Keep in mind, this helps remove some of the clutter from the off topic forum. Sports, definitely. But if you fold the tech forum in, there will just be several threads from Wiglaf on how to delete all the gay porn from his hard drive.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I agree that the real estate is valuable, but the page is too long to put "quick" links at the bottom.
I think all 3 of those links (2 subfora and closed threads) would fit very nicely in the "Private Messages - Last 5 messages" box, which is otherwise wasted space. This would bring 4-5 more active threads into view. (I understand that space is probably best suited to host advertising, but let's be realistic.)
Another option is to use top navigation more efficiently. Currently, the "Forums" link on the navbar and the big Poly logo both go to the same page. This is wasteful and redundant. Seriously: all the action in the OTF happens "below the fold." This is just wrong. In fact, there's a whole host of information architecture sins in the navbar (like the non-existent "Gallery"), but ironically, that discussion is off topic.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Can we have a MOBIUS forum where MOBIUS can go and just babble?Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
