She was smiling when she heard her post, so I assumed she got the Enterprise (since it was the top of the line).

I very much doubt this cast will ever be in a series. It's easy to ask TV actors to start making movies, but the other way is not very palatable.

Wrath of Khan is far more a character piece than it is about technology. Although there were a number of issues and themes in the movie, the biggest one would be aging and mortality.

Yeah, while you do have movies generating TV shows (off the top of my head, MASH, Stargate, Buffy) they're usually with a different cast.

              • I think after the god aweful abortion that was Enterprise we won't see a studio with the motivation to try another Star Trek TV series for a long time.

What I wouldn't mind seeing is an HBO/Starz type entity doing it with big budget. Many a film star has gone to TV in that arena. I don't think this will happen.

Probably because Spock Prime didn't think that Romulan mining ship crew would blame him for not getting to the home world in time

That would be the case if the cast were primarily movie-actors. But they're not, some, if not all the required characters are primarily TV-actors.

But first... need one more movie.

                        • They've all been in one blockbuster movie at least, Frosty.

Others have been in several, like Pegg and Cho.

Well, yeah, but no one really knows who they are. Fact, for me I only knew of Zachary Quinto from Heroes.

                            • The fact that you don't know who they are doesn't mean they're not quasi-bankable movie stars.

Simple fact remains...after they take part in 3 big-ticket movies (they're all signed to 3 movies), they're not going to want to do TV. It's a demotion in the hierarchy of actors.

There's a reason the Trek movies came after the shows.

                              • These days I don't think it's really a demotion. I can name a few good actors who returned to the TV, Martin Sheen and William Shatner, i'm sure there are more.

It will be a shame and a loss if they don't do a TV series based on the new Star Trek movie.
