Oh, and do you have a version that isn't written in utter gibberish?
Christian Führer is a protestant pastor who led the peaceful protests in Leipzig in 1989 and is known for peaceful counter-demonstrations against Neonazi marches in Leipzig. He received several awards for his peace work.
I guess this story is simply about the deep prejudices wessies and ossies (East and West Germans) have against each other, which he wants to overcome. The fact that Eastern Prussia belongs to Russia now.
Russia should give Koenigsberg back to the Germans. My own family is from Allenstein and emigrated prior to the Great War, which would have rolled through the town.
I have no beef with Russians, but Prussia is German, and should be returned.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

You do realize that if you play that game we can just roll the clock back to the time when the dirty imperialist Teutonic order grabbed that land from the Slavic and Baltic peoples (including the real Prussians).
Germany has a better claim to it then Russia, or Poland.
The real question is what to do with 'Greater' Poland.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Ben, I hope you are kidding.
Also, as your family comes from Allenstein (Olsztyn) you should know that the rural area around it continued to be polish-speaking until ww2. Olsztyn itself and the rest of Warmia (Ermland) was part of Teutonic Knights since around 1250 until war 1452-66, with a short polish episode in 1410. Then it remained polish until 1772.
Therefore, it's been polish slightly longer than german actually.
The same goes for most of Powisle region of Eastern Prussia, except for that it's been inhabited by polish tribes prior to prussian dominance, and was at least partly polish until XIII century.
When it comes to the rest, the southern part of East Prussia was inhabited by Poles (protestant Poles - Masurians) until most of them fled after ww2.
Eastern Prussia belonged to Poland briefly in 1410 and during the war 1452-1466, as well as it was under polish occupation during the war 1520-5, and was a fief of Poland 1466-1657. Even after that, it was connected to the Kingdom of Poland in certain ways and according to the 1657 treaty, when Hohenzollerns die out, it is supposed to come back to the Kingdom of Poland."I realise I hold the key to freedom,

After that it was German again for 150 years. I really don't see why Poland has a claim over areas that were settled by Germans, just because Stalin said so.
Therefore, it's been polish slightly longer than german actually.
It's been Polish for 1466-1772 = 306 years. 306 + 65 = 371 years.

Actually the Teutonic Knights exterminated the Prussians. After the initial conquest, in which large numbers were killed, they took the remaining population as slaves and forbade them to breed. Needless to say they quickly died out and were replaced by settlers from Germany.
Anyway, the borders were settled by the allied forces and the United Nations 60 years ago, so that's that. Consider the loss of territory to be a lesson to the Germans about the whole eastward expansion thing, Ned ..... uh, I mean Ben. The area belongs to the Russian because the rest of the world says so. When someone claiming German ancestry proclaims Germany's right to it we should look on that proclamation in the same light as we would look on a proclamation of 'Anschluss' - a threat to world peace. We must unite as one to repell the hunnish thug ands send him back to the dead pages of past history. We must invoke the ancient Paladins who led the fight against our once dread foe - Eisenhauer, Patton, Montgomery, Churchill, Roosevelt, Malinkov. We must vanquish this evil forever.Last edited by Dr Strangelove; May 3, 2009, 13:13."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!
