In my opinion, in both places. The threads about the podcasts are generally good, as are the posts in the creation forum. But outside of that they tend to go downhill.

Well I echo your sentiments about finding friends, I'm not sure what can be done about the Off-Topic Forum. It's always been pretty harsh for folks who aren't used to it, as a result we have quite a bit more freedom then say a Thunderfall style moderation.

On-topic, don't see why any flaming would be permitted. With the Civ2DG, I don't recall any flaming, and the moderation was heavy to clamp down on spam and flaming.

I havent been to CFC for many years and I just posted some unit animations I'd done, I never discussed anything about CIV there. The site seemed too young for me. Maybe its changed, I dunno (but I doubt it)

Personally, I dont want the kiddies here (we have enough here already - see numerous Asher masturbation threads) so my answer is PORN. Turn poly into an adult CIV site.

Said as "Apolyton" and not "Apolyton Civilization Site", it can be non-intuitive but I disagree that it's obscure.

Its not obscure... if you speak greek. None of my friends know what it means (though I will admit that my friends, like me, arent burdened with an overabundance of intellegence). It is too clever in the one place you want to be the most direct. Its hard to spell, hard to remember, hard to understand what the site name is when you hear it in a podcast.

Remember you are dealing with Americans like me.

It does make more sense if you call if "Apolyton Civilization Site" but thats not the url name, so thats not what you have to burn into their mind, its Apolyton.
