        rtwinger,

You make a lot of assumptions about people that aren't warranted. Have you seen anyone here hold up an argument simply because a celebrity said it? Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, maybe, but only because they're really ****ing funny.

The reason I'm a communist is because capitalism is inherently insane. We're heading into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression because there was too much money available. In other words, because society was so wealthy, so productive, it collapsed. That's insane. Add to that the fact that capitalism looks very much like it will do serious damage to the environment we need to sustain the level of civilization we have and being a communist is not necessarily something one does out of morality, but out of sheer self-preservation.

Note, there is a world of difference between liberals and socialism. Liberals are at best, only left wing when compared to conservatives. In the full scheme of things, they're actually in the center.

I'd like to request a cite on this one, Sawbones.

Slowwy, it's true. The most reliable predictor of party affiliation is years of education. It scales up with the years. The more years you are in school the more likely you are to come out a democrat.

The thing is that everything besides the 3 r's that you are taught before college is total bull****.

Actually, the trend changed recently. Rtwinger is correct, right now, the more degrees one has, the more likely you are to vote GOP. Interestingly, though, high income levels tend to correlate with voting Democratic. My guess is that someone got the results mixed up.

My high school education was far superior to the stuff we did in university.

Of course, that's probably why I earned plenty of college credits for the work I did.

Anyways, something on the order of 90-95 percent professors in a university are registered democrats, or if they aren't are with a party further to the left. Only about 5 percent are registered republicans.

With an environment like that, it's unsurprising that the longer you are in school, the more likely you are to be democrat.

Ben, with all due respect and affection, you are not the cite I was wanting.
WTF. I'll take y'alls word for it, since I'm neither.

Actually Ben, given your conduct on Poly, the reason you probably did so well in college is that you were given special help. You don't have the intellectual capacity or honesty to do well in a real program.

                            I scoff at you, Strangelove.

I work with a colleague who has a PhD in American History who is unquestionably a loyal Republican.

If you don't believe it make up a history examination for me to take with no prep, and see how I do.
