You tell me that you are into nice guys who are upfront with their feelings, and I'll call you either a liar, or the exception who proves the rule.

This may not apply to you, and I apologize in advance - but if women don't want to be treated like whores, they should stop acting like whores.

That's not me being bitter - by no means. I take full advantage of that mentality. I'm fine with that reality. Whorish women = But my point is, don't imply that most women want to be treated like princesses and date "nice guys" and so forth and so on. Even if you really, truly do - and if you think so, I challenge you to examine your dating history - the vast, vast majority of women don't. They may say they do, but that isn't how they act.

      Anyway, /rant.
Okay, I will admit that there are women out there who act like whores, who dress like them, and even expect men to treat them like whores. However, this is more an exception than the rule.

Your first problem? If you are pissed about women being whores you are obviously going after the wrong women to begin with. There is a large population of women who are looking for nice guys to settle down with, and guess what? They aren't in your sleazy, smoke entrenched bars drinking themselves into an oblivion.

Your second problem is that you are coming off as sounding sexist (whether you meant this or not). You have put all women in a nice little package complete with warning labels for how rotten they will treat you. Surprise, not all women are the same.

As for me, since you were kind enough to pull in my personal preferences, I fell in love with and married the most amazing man I have ever met in my life. Each day he goes out of his way to show me how much he loves me and I do the same for him. So please do not throw me under the bus with your psychotic rantings of broken-hearted bitterness. I restate that if you think all women act like whores, you are looking in the wrong place.

Don't date the jockish ******* guy you met at the bar. Date the guy who's been in love with you since 7th grade, because as creepy as you may think that guy is, he's a hell of a lot closer to what you insist you actually want
        1. The guy someone you fancy is dating almost always appears to be an arsehole, very rare you can have an objective view of this.
        2. Lots of people have been in this unrequited love thing, it's very rarely the object's fault no matter how much we might want to blame them. Short story is, it doesn't matter how good friends you are, they don't fancy you, move on.
        3. It works the other way too. Girls will have exactly the same experience where they really love a guy but he's just not interested and it causes the same problems.

The main problems guys have (I certainly had them) are not being self confident. Who wants to date someone who doesn't rate themselves? And not making it clear to girls they are interested in a relationship from early on.

Nice guys can also attract women who just want to have a good time. I'm just speaking from my own experience though.

Did it ever occur to you that perhaps you simply tend to surround yourself with like-minded women who aren't necessarily representative of all women, i.e. that you may just as easily be succumbing to the same overgeneralization fallacy that you accuse DF of using? Or that there may be significant geographical & cultural differences, even from town to town?

Also, though I don't know how old you are, it's worth mentioning that there's a very blatant generation gap in regards to this issue. In my experience the later a girl was born, the higher the probability that she'll fall within or near DF's stereotype. I blame hip-hop's sheer ubiquity among the female species in the last half-decade.

Or the actions of the girls who act like that are more memorable than the ones who don't.

No, actually they've become so common that their actions become generic and forgettable. Every 17-year-old trapped in a twentysomething's body comes to seem exactly the same as the rest. It's the emotionally mature girls that actually stand out.

Err, and your anecdotal evidence - as opposed to DF's and Cartmandua's - is more accurate why?

It's not. Probably less in fact. I'm just illustrating the same blatant fallacy and hypocrisy that pervades all corners of this thread.

I turn off my sarcasm detector online since I get so many false positives. It's easier just to act like everyone is serious and the discussions we're having are of dire importance.
