The Ben thing is a relatively recent phenomenon. I didn't agree with him on many things in the past, and especially not his stance wrt homosexuals, but he was an agreeable fellow and I got along with him, here and at L'Event. All of a sudden sometime last year his posting style changed to what was aptly called "bat**** crazy" and was/is the style that has everyone pissed off at him- his inability or unwillingness to take into account what others have said.

It's like he's put most people on "ignore" already, but in his own way: he ignores what they said and just posts whatever he feels like. That's very insulting.

Well I've spoken with Gramps already who had similar observations. I've had quite a few changes in my life in the last while.

Yes, I'm more outspoken about my own opinions, then I have been in the past, and I've also posted more here then I have in quite some time. It used to be I would go out of my way not to stir trouble. I still don't start threads, but I have been attacked considerably more (this thread is the second attack thread in less then a month).

As far as I can see people don't agree with me and like to pick fights when I post more often. It's not really that the people I have been friends with for a long time who have changed their opinion, but really the same people, over and over again who have always had issues. I mean Asher and I have never got along, but I don't believe it's because I'm the evil ogre. The banlogs are enough of an argument for me.

You and I have had issues from well before last year. I find it rather amusing you are claiming this is a recent phenemenon. I'm not sure why you've changed your opinion on me, but it's not a recent thing, at least from my understanding.

People seldom give in while having a discussion on these boards. As it happens, most people strongly disagree with Ben. Because people constantly argue with him they get the feeling they're not getting through.

His arguments, or the lack thereof, don't even matter then. We all know he's a fundamentalist Christian, and that his kind can't be swayed with rational let alone logical arguments. You all know this beforehand when you go into discussion with BK.

He still has a good use, that is affirming and articulating your own point of view on a certain issue. He also keeps reminding us ad infinitum that fundamentalists have no strong arguments really.
