"terra" means earth so terrestrial should have a connotation of pertaining to earth..terra firma means ground so this would most certainly preclude traveling on ground.

I have seen the three and four story crawlers in bigger (not the biggest) mining operations which could hold multiple Euclid type dump trucks.
