Notice the jabs at Israeli arguments and logic.

And then there's the general making fun of Israeli accent and limited vocabulary.

It's slightly amusing and in some instances truthlike.

In general thought, the show is very much against the war and is heavily critical of Israeli action. I'll see if I can find bits.

          • I believe Israel's single greatest problem at this time is that so many otherwise fairly reasonable people on both sides turn into rambling, wild-eyed fanatics whenever Israel's name is mentioned. You need to look no further than to various internet boards to find examples of what I mean. Every day, I see people posting overblown ramblings about nazis and demons - stuff that can only fan the flames of the conflict.

With the fanatics on both sides getting so much leeway and so much power, it seems unlikely that Israel will ever know peace.

I believe that, as human beings and as citizens of this world, our mission is to change that. For the time being, we're failing.

Actually, that depends on the type of smoke bomb.

White phosphorus shells are used for "incendiary smoke missions", which can create blinding smoke screens and burn people alive.

Jah, it was removed by the TV company bastards, so I deleted it.

I'll try to upload it again with no credit this time so it won't come up in their searches.

Do you really doubt that over a thousand Palestinians have been killed in the recent fighting, and that the majority have been civilians? So far out of 9 Israeli soldiers who have died about half died from friendly fire, yet the video would have us believe that the IDF is facing hordes of well trained heavily armed Hamas soldiers. Surely with all those heavy machine guns and RPGs they could manage to hit more then 4 or 5 Israelis soldiers. Maybe they're too busy eating catered meals. Yes, the Gazans look so well fed don't they?

Do you really think you can afford to delude yourselves forever?

The same is probably true in each of our major cities, and even some of the minor ones, like Richmond VA. Would you suggest that the US do to Watts, Harlem, etc. what you're doing to Gaza?

                        • The rocket fire is so "traumatic" for the same reason that people feer plane crashes far more than car crashes, even though they are orders of magnitude more likely to die in a car than in a plane - the sense of being powerless and having no control.

Israelis like to think that they sit secure behind their expensive army, and that their militarized society will keep them safe. The possibility of being randomly killed by a rocket, no matter how small, destroys that illusion of safety. Another myth they love to hang on to is that if they kill enough of their enemies, their enemies will be too scared of them to attack. Its security through fear, not through acceptance.

The level of damage in Gaza since the ground incursion has everything to do with the fact that the IDF decided this time to do everything possible to minimize their casualties and keep general support high, which has meant using immense firepower in densely built areas, which of course leads to massive damage. This is why so few Israeli soldiers and so many Palestinian civilians have died.

Do you have any doubt in ypur mind whatsoever what would happen if a few hundred rockets were launched into the US from Mexico, or better yet a single crude missile from Cuba?

That is a lame ass argument. For one, what is the situation that led to those rockets being launched? Second, Cuba and Mexico aren't fenced in totally closed areas in which civilians are trapped. And no, I do very much doubt that the US would use the rules of engagement that Israel is using in Gaza.

                              • Actually... it's a very good argument. I don't care "what the situation that led up to those rockets being launched" was. If a country launched a single missle or more into the US, our response would be quick and brutal.
We would not tolerate somebody attacking our civilians... and would respond in kind. Sure, we would do the ole "military targets" thing... but as we saw in Iraq, that would mean collateral damage to civilians.
