For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
I am ignorant of what Colonel Nathan R. Jessup did, don't know what the whole court case was about, and don't really care... but Nicholson is still number one.
Vote Republican.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
Yeah, I think this would have been a better experiment if the movie (or the play the movie was based on) hadn't been released so long ago .
Most of us just remember some of the great lines and basic outlines.

All I remember is that Cruise couldn't handle the truth. Since he's a scientologist, I feel that statement is factually correct.
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Voted Lithuanian Liberal Party. Would vote for smart Republicans (i.e., pre-Nixon), now probably Libertarians.

Jessup's errors were lying under oath and not protecting his soldiers more effectively. He should not have lost his temper, but the movie would have lost its best line about handling the truth. He did not cover his tracks well enough for the lie to work. Further he could easily have made the Marine someone else's problem using the method he lied about. Time passed him by, and he was too arrogant to see it. Nicholson played the role very well.
