Very sorry to hear this Ben. This past year, for no real or overt reason, I've been consumed by the nagging fear of the loss of my own stepdad. He has minor health issues, but for someone in their 60s, minor can easily become more.

I've had a sick grandmother.
All this year I was thinking about the fact that I have all 4 grandparents alive and how unlikely it would be for me to make it to 30 (I'm 27), with all 4 remaining. Actuarial tables be damned.
Would I have suspected this? No. He was 53.
He leaves behind 3 sons, his wife, his mother and father, his sister, and two nephews.
Thank you Grandpa Troll for starting this thread, and each one of you for your prayers. I don't know if any of the polytubbers here are from Prince George, BC, but you'll see a funeral announcement, probably in the papers tomorrow. You are welcome to come if you wish.
