    Alright, you win this war.

    • Now, where's Haliburton ... I need to cut them a deal fast before they realize it's not a war they can profit from.

      Or can they...

      • I completely disagree about US intentions in the war of 1812. Sure, the desire to annex Canada was part of it but the reasons cited in the declaration of war included the UK not removing military forces from the old Northwest as required under the Treaty of Paris (So British forces were still stationed on US territory), The UK was not respecting the rights of US ships to trade in Europe as a neutral nation, and the impressment of US citizens into military service by the Royal Navy who would simply board US ships on the high seas and kidnap US sailors. Yes, once war was declared it became an American objective to annex British North America but that wasn't cited in the declaration of war.

But it seems like Snoopster made a good point though. Politicians may have publicly given other reasons for declaring war but the real reason (conquering Canada) just went unstated.

              You're ludicrous.

Oh and, "Becoming a pawn of those you've sworn to destroy?"

Yes, keep saying that and defending, nay, glorifying inaction against such men as the Nazis.

                      • I think this thread will be remembered as Chegitz's and Kidicious' "coming out" thread.

I would be surprised anyone will give them a serious response in any debate here, from now on.

What would going to the country prove? Besides the fact that that doesn't make much sense, it wouldn't matter if the US was better than other countries if they were all ****ed up anyway. The US would still be ****ed up. In other words it's not black and white. Just because the Nazi's were bad, that doesn't make the US good. It's too bad that so many people have such faulty reasoning. It's probably a problem with the way people are socialized and educated. Texas is particularly bad.
