With Rahm Emanuel as CoS, Obama is signaling that campaign 2012 starts now. Emanuel will do whatever it takes to get term two, and I pity anyone that tries to get in his way. So I guess that makes Obama = Clinton.

I didn't say any such thing. But his term hasn't started yet, let alone implementation of any policy. There has only been market speculation on this or that during Bush's term. How this all relates to Carter I have no idea.

Hey genius, we have had other market declines long before election night and its aftermath. This decline could simply be another in the chain of declines we already have had for reasons other than Obama winning the election.

I guess the entire stock market is as stupid as him and therefore was pricing in the likelihood of a McCain victory, not the overwhelming probability of an Obama victory.

Good god, BK.

I'm not one of those blindly-partisan fanatics who believes that Obama is a saint and has miraculous, divine powers. I voted for the guy, but I know that he won't be able to carry out half of the things he has promised during his campaign. I have seen McCain's biography on CNN and found it moving and have greater respect for his military service, even if I would never vote for him as president. I scratched my head when other Democrats were trying to make a big deal of Palin using some of the funds so her kids could travel with her. I wondered with perplexity at Obama fanatics who really truly believe he will completely change the way politics will be done in Washington DC.

Had the economy had a dramatic upswing, no I would not attribute it to Obama. And had McCain won the election and there was this same economic downturn we have now, I would not be blaming this on McCain.
