  • Indeed, it looks like Al will pull this one out. Though the buzz is that the margin will trigger an automatic recount.

In other news Obama seems to have won the 2nd Congregational District of Nebraska so +1 Obama/-1 McCain. I wonder if anyones election prediction will nail that exact count?

    • From 538:

Some very weird things are going on in Georgia, as the total vote is much, much lower than expected. Some speculation has the early vote not being counted, which would strongly suggest that Saxby Chambliss will have to face a runoff in four weeks.

      • Looks like the final tally is going to be 376-162. I don't think anyone predicted the NE EV, so I doubt anyone nailed it.

The estimate is 600,000 early votes have not yet been counted. McCain's lead is about 245,000 votes. So if those votes break heavily for Obama as expected, this could be back to being too close to call.

I think the Senate race will have a runoff.

          • Well even if Obama doesn't get Georgia he'll probably lose it by about the same margin that Kerry lost the country.

Damn, 2004 USA having the same voting results as 2008 Georgia, if that works out. Really shows how much has changed in four years...

            • I'm glad to see that Nebraska kept Boris from accurately predicting the EV count.

Anyway, congratulations to Obama. I wish him luck in fulfilling his campaign promises.

              • I just went to Jack in the Box for a late night post election fast food fix and they took a while to bring me my Spicy Chicken Jack (British posters feel free to make fun of American fastfood names) and the nutjob on the talk radio kept claiming that Obama was the anti-Christ that Nestrodamus said Obama was the anti-Christ and that Obama would kill all the world's Jews. I honestly think the right wing has jumped the shark and that these losers have truly lost their minds.

Will he be the first convicted felon ever to be elected to the Senate?

I was right though provided North Carolina and Missouri go for Obama.

Naw, they've had people reelected from their prison cells.

Don't you find it bizarre that convicted felons are not allowed to vote, but are often not allowed to serve in the offices that they can't vote for?

BTW. In the last NZ election debate today, both leaders said they didn't believe in God, and no-one batted an eyelid.

It didn't. My final prediction was 364-174.

                                You're missing Indiana.

It's 376-162. MO to McCain and IN to Obama.
