But then when the first buttons and promotional material came in, it became clear that the name would be "WIGASH'08".
Asher saw the word "gash" in the name and immediately lost interest, not to mention wood. Faced with an intraparty rebellion at the eleventh hour, Wiglaf met with Asher behind closed doors and laid his feeble proposal on the table. Surprisingly, Asher was amenable, perhaps because he realized that even though Wiglaf had little to offer a man like him, he was still bending over backwards to accommodate Asher - not an easy task for a man of Wiglaf's tendencies.
Thus the ticket was changed to "ASHLAF'08" with Asher running as P and Wiglaf as VP.
