OK, so are we on for this Saturday evening? TCO might be in town too.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Can you ask whether he still believes in efficient market theory?

Do you even need to ask?

Uhm, it could be obvious in either way.

Yeah Saturday evening, DanS - and I can let you or someone else suggest a place to hang out.

Of course, I'd prefer a hang out somewhere in Silver Spring as I am beginning to learn my way around but a hang out in DC can also work.

Give me the address of whatever place is suggested after everyone has agreed to it. I got a GPS - what a great gift from my family!

Japher, I'm moving into my new apartment in Silver Spring, MD Thursday for a new career position. My new career starts on October 14.

Is your apartment near Metro access?

Yep it sure is, and I'm living about a five minute walk from downtown Silver Spring too.

OK, then I would suggest something on the red line. Metro is open until 3. How about DuPont circle?

Lucky Bar? Sign of the Whale?

No, I'm not gay, but I live in a very gay area (Logan Circle). These are not gay bars.

Others have said that Dupont Circle is one of the gay communities.

So what is Lucky Bar or Sign of Whale like? I need to get to bed, so I will come back here as soon as I have Internet access again when I get to Silver Spring.

Just normal bars. Not pretentious at all. Good places to catch a few brews.

DuPont is becoming less gay at time goes on. Even my neighborhood is becoming less gay, as the gay vanguard of gentrification moves on to other areas.
