I stayed for two nights in Silver Spring to look for the right apartment. In fact, I had almost no leisure time in between - from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Wendesday and then from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Thursday I did nothing but drive around searching and visiting different apartments.
I found an apartment in Silver Spring for $1,150 a month and includes all utilities except for water. After doing a thorough itemizing of all my expected monthly expenses (groceries, student loan debt, transportation/commute, etc.) I will have almost $400 leftover for saving, leisure spending and unusual or irregular expenses.
I will be moved into my new one bedroom apartment by October 9 or 10 and then I start work on October 14. If other Poly members want to meet somewhere in downtown Silver Spring or somewhere in DC before I start work that'd be cool.
If we're going to pick a hangout in DC be merciful to me and choose a place I can walk to or get to by bus from a metro station.
