But damn, did she look like a vapid tool tonight. And she made Biden seem like frigging Abe Lincoln just by comparison. I don't know if he normally seems that impressive, since I've never bothered to watch him speak before. But when he cites figures after she says something like "Gosh darn it, we sure are a swell country," he seems very powerful and compelling. And I don't know how any voters who weren't decided already are going to think she won this thing. But I'm sure I'll be proven wrong.
Biden has an impressive record and a formidable intellect, but he NEVER looks that impressive; just the opposite. The fact that Palin gives Biden gravitas may be the most damning thing you can say about her.

Weird, they're doing the same on PBS.

        I could sleep with her!

I can never forgive that she comes from Alaska though.

        • CNN just pointed out something I missed; apparently, Palin referred to the commander of operations in Afghanistan as "General McClellan."

Of course, that would explain a thing or two.

          • CNN's Ohio focus group declared Biden the winner by an overwhelming margin.

The fact I can't think of a way to legally punish or disband Fox news for being pandemic liars, shows me there is some sort of weakness in our constitution ><.

Don't we have a General McClellan somewhere in the command structure in Iraq or Afghanistan?

                    No, it's General McKiernan.

                    • I think McClellan would be a poor choice in general, considering his record in the Civil War

Not that I know of. McKeirnan's in charge in Afghanistan, and it's an understandable slip of teh tongue. But it is funny.

NBC is saying how they both ended up winning and no one lost (basically, they said it was a draw). The low expectations bar was easily met by Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden didn't say anything super dumb so it seemed they did what they were supposed to do.

Nothing really for the late night talk show hosts to talk about it seems.

Am watching Fox too - do people really think it would be a good idea to have a VP who is "just like everybody else"? A Mayor, sure. The Governor of a state with a small populace, ok. But the VP of the largest, most powerful, influential and probably most diverse nation of Earth?? Back when Clinton was still in contention I was sorta looking forward to seeing how sexist international leaders handled their meetings with a woman leader of the US, but there's just been 8 years of a down-home, simple-talking, gun-loving leader, and look how that ended up. Maybe it's just Fox news befuddling me, but are people actually unable to see the similarity? McCain is nothing like Bush, but Palin is.
