  • I figured out how to turn the speakers on. The vids I posted said what I expected them to say. However anyone can listen to them and decide for themselves as you have decided for yourself. Not only does it not matter to me, it just doesn't matter. Nobody will change theit vote as a result of any of this.

And after he said that, what did the Bush admin do?

              • They neither moved to save the corrupt Democratic machine in Chicago nor did Bush pledge to go out for beers with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea just because so I'm not sure what your point is.

Its funny you think that accepting to meet with people without precondictions is a bad thing. But I think that is a great indictment on your judgement.

Some of the best presidents of the US never received a formal education, and some of the worst had a formal degree.

I agree with you that someone who is uneducated would not be capable of becoming president, but to me education is much more broader then the ivy leagues.

The issue is no education as much as intellectual ability. Certainly people in the past might not have had the opportunity to get a formal education - with all the programs now, that is far less likely.

Obama's success in education shows an intelligent man capable of processing complex issues and understanding multiple points of view, also being interested in multiple points of view.

Nothing in Sarah Palin's resume shows much intellectual interest. We have had rnough of a "know-nothing" atittude in the WH.

It also means that with more receiving the education that the degree means less. I don't think the standards in high school are as rigorous as they were 40 years ago and likewise with the university education. That's the problem with the basic expectation that everyone is qualified for university, is that they have to deal with issues they wouldn't otherwise have to face.

                              Obama's success in education
Success in education? The man can't give a coherent speech without a teleprompter, let alone write his own speech. How is it possible for a man to get a harvard law degree and not learn how to write and give a stump speech?

shows an intelligent man capable of processing complex issues and understanding multiple points of view, also being interested in multiple points of view.
IOW, he's politically correct, which is all the degree means. You talk about 'understanding multiple points of view', which is a simple way to describe our modern education system which has very little to do with proficiency.

Raising and educating 5 children is far more experience then anything Obama went through, and demonstrates that she would be far more capable then Obama in dealing with the herd of people in government. Don't get me wrong, formal education can be useful, but I don't see anything that would lead me to presume Obama to be brilliant. JFK even published a book on his popular thesis, where is Obama's book? For the man calling himself educated, he's got nothing to show for it other then a piece of paper.
