Now that you say that, I'm not so sure of my opinion about disco.

You're right about that. Even if you go back to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, it's clear that hip hop's origins are in the disco scene.

Yes, but you already had to have them in your apartment for that to work. And if they were already there, you probably didn't need it.

Disco meant heavily boozed up girls all hyped/horny from dancing. That's how you got them back to your appartment.

This is probably the best example

It's hard to tell where the disco stopped and the rap started.

                        Sloww:

That Wyclef Jean song from '97 and the Sugar Hill Gang song from like 78 or something that I just posted... I don't see how you couldn't like them if you liked disco. It's just a continuation on the same spectrum

seriously, though, all these 70's videos sound incredibly... how shall i say without sounding offensive...

There are a lot of people that think DISCO encouraged a lot of people to "COME OUT"

Damnit man! Couldn't you have put something up that would be more relate-able to these old timers like the new "Everybody" song by Andre3000, Kanye West, and Bentley Farnsworth:

                              or maybe Outkast's Hey Ya?
