          Canada?

Maybe you don't realize it. It would be more obvious if you played baseball like I did.

In California they say "Fawl" or something similar, in Canada it's a soft two syllable word "fow-ul".

anybody else notice that, at least in the US, when people say "Defense Spending" they say a di-fens but when they say "The Patriots had a bad defense last year", they say dee-fens?

What's up with that? I think every American does this for the same word!

              Foul/Fowl is one syllable.

Maybe in the asherverse it has two. I've lived in Canada all my life, and we don't say it with two.

No it's ****ing not, you stupid little ****.

Why the **** would you say such a thing when your location field clearly says Texas?

I've lived in the US for four years and I've lived in both eastern and western Canada. Additionally, you've got a hearing disability and an intellectual disability so I'm willing to bet you don't know what the **** you are talking about.

I'm more experienced with the nuances of how Canadians and Americans speak than you are, given that I can both HEAR and that I have lived for extended periods of time in both countries.

Isn't the "e" in defence pronounced like "ee"?

That is my most common problem when speaking english
The pronounciation of the first vowel. I know how to pronounce almost all words. But sometimes I make mistakes like pronouncing the "a" in native like the "a" in natural.

Wow, you must be nice to be around when you're like this. Listen to yourself! You're losing it, and you're losing it fast.

I have to go back to work soon, but I don't think anyone can make a blanket statement about American accents.

I find Oirish accent entertaining to listen to.
Also, I once had to listen to a guy from Edinburgh. That he was from there was the only thing I understood, after remembering that burgh doesn't sound berg, but borough.

                            Vot about ve Rushin accent?

Especially because there are so many: Maine, Bronx, Boston, Georgian, Tennesseean, Texan, Mid-West, Hawaiian, and the list goes on and on.
