ZOMG This video has opened my eyes!

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

As Republican's go, McCain really isn't that bad.

Although he seems to have flip flopped to the right for the primaries. He'll probably flip flop back towards the centre for the election.

My head hasn't hurt so badly in a long time. I haven't read the books, so I don't know how in/out of context the quotes were, or even if they were accurate, but a couple of things stood out. Using LINCOLN as an example of an experienced candidate is pretty silly. Sure, he had more than Obama, but not a whole lot. And the video states that he hangs with these terrorists, but lacks any evidence for this. And I personally like the fact that Obama has issues with America. Being proud of your country whether it does good, bad, or indifferent is stupid. If does good, be proud. If starts wasteful, meaningless wars on false pretenses while simultaneously bankrupting itself, then being unimpressed by your country seems sound. Also, flags are for idiots, wish he didn't wear one.

People in Europe need to learn sometime that anything with the US does not automatically equal something negative.

            That makes my head hurt.

The only acceptable answers to that question are TR or Ike. That's probably why you think Lincoln was overrated.

Let me put it this way: hope for the best, prepare for the worst...

But even though McCain is likeable, he should realize he is past an age that allows for surviving the rigors of 4 years of international politics...

Time to enjoy life I would say.

OMG! Obama wants to kill white people! Or is it racist extremists just want to smear the first (half) black candidate for US President? No, it couldn't be the bigots are attacking him for his race.

He's another one who better fits in with the modern Democratic platform then the Republican one.
Eisenhower originally sought the Democratic nomination, but the Democrats were too committed to Adlai Stevenson. The Republicans recognised the power of brand name immediately and scooped him up. There's no way the Republicans wouldn't do it all over again today. Turn down the man who liberated Europe? Please, get real. Platform is one thing, but power is where it's at.

You mean actions actually really do speak louder than words? Another indication of McCain.

That's my point. Eisenhower was one of our best Presidents ever because he tilted things towards common people and increased the power of government to deal with monopolies (remember how he wanted to break up GM? GM had 70% of the US auto market) but today his populist message would make him unwanted in the Republican big business establishment.

I mean Eisenhower repeatedly said the military-industrial complex was the greatest danger to American democracy but today the Republican just can't suck enough **** from the big military contractors.

Bull****, Oerdin. A) You don't know anything about the man, except what you read and B) you're a close-minded liberal attempting to define republican perspective.
