    Laptop theives should be drawn and quartered and dimed

    I'm so pissed. I finally got things up and running, but there are so many things I can't replace.

    Someone busted into my room yesterday morning when I was out. They stole my laptop and my cellphone, all my games, everything electronic.

    Thankfully they left my hearing aids which were the most valuable things there.

    Everything else they trashed. I just moved out and finally got everything set up again, but I still have to sort out that room and figure out what is still usable and what is destroyed. My whole life was pretty much in there, all my pictures.

    I just don't understand, all for the want of these things, they would destroy someone's life over it. I wish I could string up the thieves right now.

    If Texas had permitted guns, this wouldn't have happened. Who's going to rob a house if there's potential for the owner to be wielding a gun?

        Backups?
        It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

            Well sure you have backups. You may have a shotgun with a pistol kept handy, or vise versa.

                  I have a harddrive that I have everything backed up to about 6 months ago.

                  They found that too. I had it stashed away. They took my backup router as well.

                  It's bad losing stuff from 6 months, but losing that backup harddrive is the worst.

                        It's unlikely they will unless they use the cellphone.

                        I'm going to be checking the pawnshops and see if my old laptop shows up.

                          They dug through for a harddrive? That is hardcore. Especially since used harddrives go for what? 30$ or less?

                          Most thieves just grab what is lying about (and many don't know the prices of computer electronics and so don't take them).

                            Yep. I had all my clothes and they went through each and every bag, scattered it around, and tore some of it up.

                            They went through absolutely everything.

                            I'm really not happy being up here in Canada right now. I've been broken into once already, in just April and now this. Twice in 4 months. Different places too.
