As far as I know South Ossetia is not a *real* country.
Its a province of Georgia. Its separatists happen to have the good luck of being supported by Russia.

About Tskhinvali - it was a scene of a battle, and EVERONE was shooting, so attributing this to Georgians alone is ludicrous. But don't let that stop you, clown.
Anyhow, if the city was a scene of battle, don't realise that that means Georgia invaded South Ossetia, broken the cease-fire and that automatically makes Georgia an AGRESSOR?
The agressor who started thi bloodbath.
I'm tired of crap. You are hopeless.

Its a province of Serbia. Its separatists happen to have the good luck of being supported by NATO.
Any difference?

Hey Serb,
Have you been able to find the UN authorization for Russian South Ossetia Operations yet?
I am really interested in Russia's legal claims to what they are doing now. I have been asking someone to provide some kind of document that justifies what Russia is doing. onodera was kind enough to get us a Russian language document, but when translated seemed to offer no authorization for what is going on. I have searched the UN website and found a lot in relation to Abkhazia, but NOTHING on South Ossetia.
This is the third time I have asked. If there is nothing, which is appearing more and more likely, the Russia needs to immediately withdraw from Georgian territory.
Let's not forget that when the Russians are telling us how terrible that the Georgians are in South Ossetia, that South Ossetia is inside the internationally recognized boarders of Georgia. This, I think, is an important thing to remember."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Illegal? They signed a cease-fire treaty with those "illegal" people, when they failed to exterminate them first time in 90's. Let me guess, you believe that cease-fire treaty was illegal too? As well precense of peacekeepers there?
Bullsh!t. Russian forces crossed the border the NEXT DAY, when Tskhinvaly was in ruins, hundreds of civilians murdered, ten Russian peacekeepers killed.
When UNSC emeregency session initiated by Russia to stop the violence failed to make any decision (thank to your and Saak's master who trained and supplied Georgian army and prepared it for this bloodbath) wrt South Osetia.
Our "masters" prepared Georgia to be able to control Chechens using their territory to fight against YOU.
So there was no bombardemnt of the city with heavy weaponry and Grads?
We saw some awesome videos of grads firing somewhere, and some people running around some town crying, and one basement with several people there. What we HEARD from RUSSIAN sources was "genocide", "georgians acting like fascists", "100", then "1400", then "2000 civilians killed omg Saak is HITLER!!11!".
Anyhow, if the city was a scene of battle, don't realise that that means Georgia invaded South Ossetia, broken the cease-fire and that automatically makes Georgia an AGRESSOR?
No it does not.
The agressor who started thi bloodbath.
Glad you agree that its Russia, by invading a sovereign country and supporting separatists that kept on provoking a country that was very flexible in offering terms for resolution of the long lasting dispute.
I'm tired of crap. You are hopeless.
I am not hopeless, I am too resourceful for your abilities

Surely you are not trying to say that two "wrongs" make a "right"? I never would have thought that Russia based their foriegn policy on the thinking of a 4 year old.
Regardless of what happened in Kosovo, th issue here is Russia invading the soverign territory of another country without any international backing. You must quit trying to deflect Russia's crimes by pointing fingers at others.
Russia needs to withdraw now."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Maps lie. The fact is that Georgia had no real control over SO, and wanted to. Most SOs don't want anything to do with Georgia.
Its a province of Georgia. Its separatists happen to have the good luck of being supported by Russia.
In that respect it is wholly different from say, Grenada.
Now, on the other hand, it is an open question as to whether the Russians are going to use this military gift as a means to crush Sakashvili's government and either force a humiliating settlement on the Georgians or replace the Georgian government with a Russophile administration.
If they do the latter, I won't be disappointed. Sakashvili is about as democratic as Bhutto and has no problem in turning the riot police on his own people when it suits him.
As for the chess game between Russia, China and the West, I no longer give a **** who wins. In fact, I'd prefer it if they all lost.Only feebs vote.

Wiki says this:
The Russian government stated its justification for entering Georgian territory was to protect Russian citizens (since most South Ossetians hold Russian passports [22][23]) and its peacekeepers in South Ossetia, and to enforce the peacekeeping mandate given to it by the UN.

I'll try to find something, probably tommorow. But now my shift is almost over and I have to go home and have some rest.

Good Morning Aggie,
The "minor clashes" you refer to were the South Ossetians shelling the Georgians. Where do you suppose they got the mortars from?"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003
