Saras, what's the general response in Lithuanian media? I assume they're also pretty much exclusively supporting Georgia? Any actions in Vilnius?

It is my belief that Russias need to be preeminent is pushing them to reestablishing a bi-polar world. No one benefitted from that situation before."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. It's sad how Russians continue to idolize the communist regime which murdered more people then Hitler. At least the Germans have enough decency to revile their old murderous government.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Does anyone else find it ironic to see a Russian invoking the Kosovo precedent given thier own wars to crush independence movements in breakaway provinces? How does one support that principle in one instance and ignore it in others when it applies much more?I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Oh..so you want to talk about proportionality. Yeah...right.
I would have responded to your other post as well because I think here are some valid points in it, but it was just to hard to extract them from the incessant anti-American whaling that you constantly bleat these days. Sorry.
You need to wake up and see the beam in your own eye, as the good book says. It's the great failing of your country (and of course you aren't alone). Your country is no different than other major powers: i.e. it's a ****.Only feebs vote.

Sure. It's kind of relevant. Or do you think that mortaring allows flattening a city in response.
No, I think Georgia was definately in the wrong for their response, but it is their country. Given these particular circumstances, I can see some type of Russian response...particularly if the peacekeeping agreements allowed it. My point, which I suspect you know, was that the Russian respose has been way over the top on proportionality...which makes your discussion of it laughable.
translation: I am scared of getting owned, so I won't respond.
You need a new translator because this one is way wrong.
But then many things you spout off about are way wrong so no big suprise. If I had been running from you, I would never have said you had some valid points in there. I guess even a blind squirrel will find a nut occasionaly.

Indeed, I agree that my country is no different from other major powers in that they exercise that power and that it is not always for the benefit of those on the receiving end. I don't know where I have ever said the US is without fault. I would be glad for you to cite where I led you to believe this. Now, there is no doubt that we disagree on some specific instances, but I challenge you to find a general all encompassing statement from me that says the US does no wrong. In fact, I would say that it is you that has the tunnel vision in that you can see no good that the US does. Hence my reluctance to respond to your incessant whining...it is certainly not because I am scared."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003
