Not necessarily. They have less mercury than old-school thermometers, for instance.

And, you don't really need a Hazmat team, either.

Not unless you're that paranoid about mercury, which would mean you oughtn't eat seafood, either.

There's no guarantee that the supply will increase dramatically enough to do so. Additionally, since it'll be years before it comes to fruition, I'm not so sure the speculators will drop the prices soon enough to make a difference this year.
Price will drop to double digits for dollars/litre. Guarantee it.

Oil prices are dropping as supply increases, and dropping much faster then the 3-4 percent that Obama said could be done.

3-4% isn't a rate. There's no time unit. The rate of change in oil prices intrinsically cannot be compared to this.

            No I don't.

We'll always have climate change so long as we have solar cycles. This warm period is an anomaly, so we should enjoy it while we can.

American Dollars to the Gallon, you mean?

I think the days of 89-cent gasoline are long over, no matter how much oil we get. If you're suggesting that we'll see prices fall to under $3/gallon, perhaps; under $2, again, I doubt it.

But how long a timeframe are you suggesting? By the end of the year? The end of five years?

The total drop is already greater then 3-4 percent, and it's going to continue to fall.

Obama said that was impossible for supply to effect demand within the next ten years.

Nope, I mean USD to the litre or CDN to the litre since CDN = USD these days.

It's hit as high as 1.5 here, and it is already under 1.3 dollars/litre.

Honestly dude, why do you claim obviously false things? Whomever is providing you with information (on, it seems, pretty much everything) is lying.

Well, it's not that he's completely opposed to it. He's just of the mindset we need a better method to eliminate the waste before we build more. He's given himself some wiggle room.
IOW, he opposes the construction of any nuclear plants. Glad to hear he's all in favour of alternative energy. It seems to me he's not in favour of alternative energy as a means to get away from oil dependency, he just wants to subsidise the industries that are supported by his big donors like the Sierra club.

There's no guarantee that the supply will increase dramatically enough to do so. Additionally, since it'll be years before it comes to fruition, I'm not so sure the speculators will drop the prices soon enough to make a difference this year.
I'd bet money on it dropping to double digits again. It's been dropping from the high awhile ago.

Well, a lot of environmentalists are now more in favor of it.
Good. We can always dump the nuclear waste in Nevada. There's no liberals there at all.

It's a little over 3.7 litres to the gallon; in other words, for it to drop to $0.99/litre, we'll have to expect it to be around $3.67 to the gallon from the current $5.55/gallon you have in Canada.

Chicago's at $4.30/gallon at the moment; we'd have to expect a similar 33% drop, so gas should be around $2.88/gallon by the end of the month.

                            Would you care to wager?

                                Because of the 22nd amendment.
