    Seeing as you're either too lazy to watch a vid or to stupid to comprehend, I'll try to make it simple for you. On the campaign trail, Obama had laid out his energy plan and someone from the audience asked, "What can individuals do to help?" So he responded with "you can make sure your tires are properly inflated" b/c if everyone did so it'd save ~3-4% total gasoline consumption in the U.S.

      McCain's energy policy.
      He's preaching compact fluorescent bulbs. Far more nefarious than pressure gauges. And he did in a speech (as opposed to Obama responding to a question). Arrogant elitist.

        I'm pretty sure that's McCain territory. He's the one married to the beer heiress...

        Michelin is the tire company. And incidentally, keeping tire pressure up reduces, not increases, tire purchases...

          You are against cfls? News to me.

          Up here the energy policy is to flog anyone buying Incandescents. Of course I have a whole box of them when I can't get them smuggled in from the free world.

          I don't see what the issue is with CFLs so long as incandescents are sold too. Incandescents are cheaper.

                First, he never actually mentions CFLs explicitly as in "you should all go out and buy CFLs, it will save energy."

                That's preaching. All he says is that energy efficient lights can save energy, which is a statement of fact and includes LEDs too.

                Big difference.

                I don't care what he says about CFLs so long as they aren't mandatory.

                      I believe Obama was asked "what can we do to help?" In which case his tire gauge answer is pretty good, and not preaching.
