So I'll pay a fine. That's what you do with crimes that aren't very serious.

Speeding tickets are only about a hundred bucks. You figure a hundred bucks would cover it?
They'll do worse than fine you...far worse....they'll deport you to Canada!!

Because it has nothing to do with this thread at all.

BTW: I've been poking around on line and it turns out that in L.A., typical speeding tickets are ~$300+. I think we're jealous of anyone who can exceed the speed limit in the middle of a traffic jam.

Z, sanctuary policy has nothing to do with not reporting illegal aliens in general in this case, it has to do with not reporting illegal alieans who commit other crimes.

Even though I disagree with you on sanctuary policy in general, even you can't honestly support covering for illegal aliens who the commit other serious crimes (or serious crimes, since you don't consider the original crossing serious). Hell, wait until they are convicted to inform ICE, that way you won't have wrongly accused illegals deported.

There really is no way to justify the policy as it currently stands.

Er, I think DD was specifically referring to those illegal immigrants who come here and are arrested and convicted for additional crimes, not illegal immigrants as a whole.

I don't even have a problem with sanctuary policies in general, but what possible justification could you offer for not looking into the immigration status of someone who is fully convicted of violent felonies (yes, that's plural)? How would that person be filling unwanted jobs and fulfilling the "American Dream"?
                Unbelievable!

DD always changes the topic when he loses. It's so he can pretend his shame never happened.

Thank you. I was actually suprised he, Asher, and his Me too decided to ignore that and jump to thier own respective knee jerk reactions. Which is sad because I really would like to have someone actually defend the policy just to see how it originated at least.

Aren't you trying to make illegal immigrants appear to be murderers for your own political reasons? And if so do you have any evidence that illegal immigrants murder more people than citizens do?

But you are saying that by not deporting illegal immigrants we are guilty of not keeping Americans safe, right? How is that different?
