I just want to add that a PDF that's hosted by barackobama.com and can be easily gotten to by clicking a link on the Summary page for Energy is clearly not "non-site."
Was it in the code of his webpage? No, it wasn't on sight. If Obama thought nuclear power was as important as he should it would be included in the summary right there on the page. Not even a passing mention.
It's all dud oil land??
Nah, some is going to be, but a lot of it is 1.) oil reserves not yet profitable to extract or 2.) already pumped land that requires higher prices to justify working for the left overs.

There's an easily accessible link that spells out the policy for anyone who cares the least bit. For those that don't, there's a "summary" that's as inoffensive to his coalition as possible.

It's fun to watch people pick on McCain's knowledge. They are blinded to Obama's weakness in the same areas. Or does anyone here claim that Obama is an accomplished economist.
I won't, but I'll say that he's listening to more from the accomplished Chicago school, particularly with respect to behavioral economics.
Let's say we had a housing shortage; would the best way to get out from under that shortage to be to not build any new houses?
You can say up and down that oil is finite, but if you're so certain that we're headed for economic tragedy when that day supposedly comes, what good will it do for us to delay the inevitable by not drilling there? And at what point would you allow drilling?

republican answer to problems= borrow money from somewhere and ignore it
Seems to be working for us so far.
You can say up and down that one day we'll have to pay back the money we've borrowed, but if you're so certain that we're headed for economic tragedy when that day supposedly comes, what good will it do for us to delay the inevitable by not continuing to borrow while we can? And at what point would you allow us to take out more from the creditors?

Dude, how many pathetic excuses are you going to make for him? It is clear that Obama does not hold nuclear power in high esteem when it is the only available and possible solution to several of our energy problems.
Again, a whole page summarizing his energy policy points most important to him and nukes don't even get an honorable mention. That is just wrong.

Patroklos, Obama has seen the errors of his ways and is starting to listen to your arguements. I saw a speach he gave recently and he's now talking about using more nuclear power and drilling offshore. Give him a bit more time and the Chameleon in him will be preaching the glory of the atom. He is the ONE.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

He is using the old Clinton strategy. If your opponent is doing something that is good. Steal the idea and claim it as your own.

He's already proven that he's not really any sort of change to me.
That said, between the two evils of him or McCain, I'll be voting third party again this year. I'd still prefer Obama, though. Mostly on account of his social and technology platform.
I don't want to waste my vote on a third party. (but voting for a republican for prez in Illinois is equally futile) BUT I like the old McCain and feel that liKe Obama they both will say whatever they think will help them in the election so I'm hoping that if McCain does win, he'll act like the person he has been for decades and not the presidential candidate that we've had thrust upon us the last few months.
Obama has never really taken a stand on anything in his short career except for that nebulous CHANGE he keeps promising until he realizes that most americans aren't interested in that specific change so it's really other CHANGE that he's interested in. Maybe if he actually attended congress and voted, we might know where he actually stands on some of these issues instead of having to trust what is spewed from, "THE ONE"

You still haven't explained how you make the inference that increased Federal spending would be bad, even when you identify the collective action problems that such spending is supposed to ameliorate.
I want to make it clear that I don't care who you vote for. We are so far gone that it makes little practical difference now, and you might as well do something constructive with the day rather than wait in line for something that will have no practical effect in the end.
