  • Meet Barack Hussein Mugabe

(CNN) — Barack Obama said Friday that a windfall profits tax should be imposed on the oil industry to subsidize a $1,000 "emergency" rebate for consumers struggling with surging gas prices.

The rebates had already been announced as part of his tax relief proposal, but the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee said the release of a disappointing jobs report Friday called for the immediate adoption of the plan, which he said would provide a rebate that would “be enough to offset the increased cost of gas for a working family over the next four months."

Of course this will trigger most of the super secret organizations the really control the world, into action.

        His campaign is officially over.

Actually it's picked up some steam.

Getting less coverage is starting to help as the stupid stuff that he's doing isn't getting as much coverage as the stupid stuff that Obama is doing.

I even just saw a poll that showed McCain in the lead (not that I believed it but what the heck)

Yeah, the lack of coverage is helping McCain bigtime. He doesn't seem to know anything about anything (at the very least not the economy). I mean he's got loads of "experience," but that doesn't seem to translate into knowledge of the economy or the difference between Sunnis and Shiites.

Of course Obama pandering isn't going to help his own cause.

It's fun to watch people pick on McCain's knowledge. They are blinded to Obama's weakness in the same areas. Or does anyone here claim that Obama is an accomplished economist.

McCain had a slight lead when some CNN polls were adjusted to "likely voters".

It's really a fairly nasty smear, considering what Mugabe's been up to.

As for the policy, blech. Not impressed.

I think this idea is far better than the disasterous gas-tax holiday supported by Clinton and McCain. However, while it will be less damaging, I don't think it will make much of a difference. The hard truth is that Americans need to change their consumption habits, and the best cure has been shown to be high gas prices.

you right, because "consuming" equates to trucking goods and products and raw materials = higher building costs = less who can afford them homes oh and dont forget the people who deliver those goods get nipped as well, before they even get to transport any materials to the consumers so as they can...
