Sunspot activity is actually linked to climate and weather

It's been a practice since the 17 or 18 hundreds to predict global weather trends and resulting draughts or good harvests by monitoring the sun. Apparently some people got rich doing this (with investments, ect...)

A regularly occurring minimum, but the longest minimum we've had for a while. Nothing (yet) to worry about wrt global cooling, but relatively unusual.

I have reason to believe that the Sun is actually communicating with a nearby alien civilization and that this recent sunspot drought is a signal to begin the invasion. But light only travels so fast, so we do have some time.

I know that Ludd, but it is a one way streak. It was a simple, easy, and thus not very funny joke

                    No Sunspots!

                    No Sun!

It just disappeared, clear out of the sky. And now it's pitch dark here. It's not the first time it's happened eíther. It appears to come and go in cycles.

Might as well go to bed then..

It went down and took its damn lack of spots with it, says Winston. The sun finally clears up its acne after 11 years and all you guys can do is make fun. Just wait for the next outbreak -- you'll get yours!

So much for Ben's canard about solar warming.

Don't know what kind of quacks Ben have made, but I hope that you are aware about the fact that GW has caught an unexplained standstill for a couple of years ?

Pardon my naivity but I thought no sun spots was a good thing as it indicated less solar flares and internal raging sun nuclear activity and the resultant damage those things can do.

While an active sun may be a nuisance concidering sattelites and radio communication, the lack of the same maybe triggering a minor ice age could be considerd a major nuisance.
