  • Well, Loriazel, just from top of my head, these all between ww2 and present:
Japanese interment camps, cointelpro, mk-ultra, bombing brown people, blaming brown people, operation mockingbird, producing hordes of young believers using hollywood and gi.joe figurines and daily show, bombing brown people again, taking control of all big media, playing down any who are the true representatives of the people and also sometimes killing them, helping enable corporate abuse outside and inside US, blaming LA riots and looting katrina on the citizens, creating a free for all land where big corps and cults like scientology can roam free and **** the masses in the ass without fear, trying to paint Obama as somebody who gives a **** about black people, ****ing up South America, using fox news to create an idea that only fox is propaganda, rest are real news!! etc
The American Oki-doki (by Carlin) is the belief that US is exactly the opposite of those. CIA is pretty much the exact opposite of what it is in every action movie.
Well, atleast no jews got hurt, and not many overall people killed compared to Nazis
modern slavery + bombing brown people > genocide.

List also does not include the very newest tortures getting rid of habeas blah blah. I assume you know these.
Google, wiki whatever, if you care.
    Btw this is mk-ultra:

Not much happened to Nixon, but possibly more than will happen to the current admin.

Er, no I produced a source that shows it bottomed out at 19%, just like I said. Do you actually not see it on the page? I don't think it's particularly hidden, but I can take a screenshot of it if you like.

Ramo says that single data points are crap. I'm inclined to agree with him, since the evidence posted in this thread already contradicts with Kontiki's claim and his source.

Or it could be that you've argued that you need to look at an average of Bush's ratings but are content to use a single data point for Truman.

I'm really quite confused, Ben. Do you think the poll that put Bush at 19% simply didn't exist, or used improper methodology or something else? You're calling it spurious - do you even know what that word means?

Who said anything about paying for consequences?

What I mean is that the leaders we had during World War II (FDR and our military leaders, mostly) had the balls to do blatantly and horrifically bad things, and that's not so today.

Bush doesn't have the guts to actually imprison all the Arabs in America or to nuke Iran. He's a *****. And no country led by a ***** will ever compare to a regime like the Third Reich.

I'm actually doing a little bit of research on a very much related topic. I'm figuring out how to make people grasp the abstract concept of sustainable food production better. That is, to replace their plate-centered perspective on food with a more broad system-based view that encompasses social, environmental and many other issues that play a role in building a sustainable (food) economy.

One of the easiest ways of doing this is through the use of metaphor; a good one being foundations (like of a building) we depend on equalling our food system. Without going into details: even in basic tests, people seem to be able to make more positive statements, take into account much more factors and have a deeper understanding of sustainability. I'm a bit sceptical on how much people's attitude can really be influenced though. So far however it seems like people can be manipulated - or rather convinced () relatively quickly so they will tend to independently think of sustainability issues without imposing technical and boring explanations!

Too bad I won't finish it on time as I have yet to do like 90% of it and the deadline is in a fortnight , so technically I will fail my master... oh well bleh who cares.

Liar. You know full well this country couldn't survive another Bush. You just want the US to down. For shames, Hera. For shames.

Actually, current estimates are 'only' 24000-40000 casualties for Dresden, both Hiroshima & Nagasaki had way more even from the blast and more people died later.

According to wiki Dresden is actually making a new study about it to be released later this year...
