Liberty is the basis on which we can rise to prosperity. Without liberty, prosperity will dissapear.

Further, I AGREE with the supreme court ruling. I do not own a gun, I never intend to buy a gun but I am GLAD that there are more guns per person in America then any country in the world.

Handguns rifles and a handful of assault rifles are not going to stop heavy military equipment. However any would be tyrant would need popular support in the begining and would be unwilling to bomb civilian populations. The fact America is so heavily armed means we will not be easily pushed over by a true tyrant.

I do not own, and will not own a firearm. It is not my right to decide for my neighbour whether he can or cannot own a firearm in his own home. Just as he cannot force me to own one, I cannot confiscate his.

People, Texans, animals, etc. I kept it vague since if I said "they're designed to kill people" you'd protest, since guns can be used to kill all sorts of things.

So people are things now? I don't know about you, but people are pretty different then things.

Do you believe that hunting is evil Asher? I don't see how killing animals is a bad thing if I like to eat animals.

I don't think it's evil, I just think the people who hunt for sport are the most pathetic specimen of human around. Especially the kind who sit up in hunting boxes and shoot animals with a scope on a high-powered rifle.

I'm all for the killing of animals for the purpose of sustenance, but not for sport. This is a topic for another thread.

You dodged my question though, Ben. Can you explain, morally, why you don't think it's your right to stop your neighbor from owning items designed to kill, but it is your right to stop consensual adults from marrying?
