Different but equal.

I think they do have different roles in general, but that doesn't make one 'less' then the other. I don't understand that at all. If you are a mom who stays at home why would that be less then the guy who works. Half the time the guy couldn't work as well as he does, if the wife weren't at home doing the rest of the stuff.

This would be the category for people who think that women have a place in the boardroom, but should stay out of certain specific roles (combat units, priesthood, boy scout troop leaders, whatever)

Well I don't think men can or should be in certain roles (girl scout troop leader, midwife, nun). Why didn't you put your question in that form? It works both ways.

I think people who view men as better CEOs are more along the lines of Men are better than women.

Right, then. Different but equal of course.

I'm the sort who is all for women in any role they want so long as they can fulfill the job requirements. This includes combat, firefighting, etc. Men too, in roles that are not traditionally theirs. In either case, the requirements should be the same for any applicant.

I'm not saying women aren't to be afforded equal opportunities and rights, but to suggest there are no differences is, at best, a misconception.

I don't believe in generalization. If a woman can show herself to be competitive with men on any level, why not let them compete?

The whole concept of 'mens' and 'womens' leagues are ridiculous to me, for instance.

Where did I say anything about them not being allowed to compete? Quit putting words in my mouth. Men and women are differently built. That does not imply anything of the kind you're saying.

You are generalizing. Don't deny it.

If men and women are truly differently built, how come women can overpower you physically?

In general terms, men are stronger than women. Absolutely. But not always, and there's no point in emphasizing this.

People are people. Some are stronger than others. Gender is one correlating factor, but it is not a rule.

While I agree with you, Asher, I understand why there are different leagues in sports.

If there were only one league for both men and women, it would more than likely be comprised mostly of men because, generally speaking, men are going to be more physically capable. And if the sexual makeup isn't equal in a league that is supposed to be for both sexes, there will be cries of sexism when really, it's just reality.

Doesn't matter. There are different levels of competition. If the women aren't good enough to be at the top level, there's always lower levels of competition.

Sexism is having a women's and men's league, and anyone who says otherwise can get in line for a smack upside the head courtesy of me.

As I said, I agree. I'm just saying that's how it would be perceived by many who claim to support women's rights. Which is a shame, really.

That's not equality. The CEO should be values the same as a housewife. yeah, that's gonna happen in class society.
