    Here's a suggestion, as far as Texas. Look past an image that is somewhat generally self-perpetuated.

      I've been to Texas (Dallas). It's nice that you know a gay couple and they make cookies for you, but to say Texas and other southern states would elect a gay man is a wee bit of a stretch.

      Some parts of us should not be broadcast in public when there's rednecks around. Hell, I live in one of the most liberal parts of the world and I'm not out at work. Why? Because it's not a good career move to come out.

      It applies to all sorts of things, including this thread.

                          Most of those items will be accepted truths by mid-October. Especially south of the Mason-Dixon line.

                          Democracy will once again survive. and the Democrats may be left wondering what happened.

                              In the case of Dallas, it's not so much a stereotype as an unequivocal truth. You're lucky you haven't been beat down in Dallas for not beating down your gay neighbors.
