    Just wanted to say Firaxis sucks

    Been ages since I played Civ4. Started up a simple Civ4 BTS LAN game with the SO.

    We're "out of sync" as soon as the game starts, even if we re-start.

    You gotta have some kind of stupid programmers to be out of sync in a game before it even begins. Hats off to them.

      Shouldn't be playing the piece of bloatware that BtS is anyway, but Warlords. That said, it's been a while since I've played anything other than CoD 2 and the occassional bout of Far Cry. Haven't even unpacked Doom 3 and Beyond Good & Evil I bought a while ago and I was planning to play Orange whatever, Crysis and CoD 4. Sigh.

        There's a bug with the current version that is caused by Events being turned on, as tp states. Technically you're OOS just *after* the game starts, not before. Just... barely after.

          As soon as my game screen loads, I'm out of sync...at no point do I not see the out of sync error.

            That's because it's barely after You know computers do things in milliseconds, right?

            In any event, turn "events" off and you can play fine. Also, the install order is what causes the problem (rather, caused the problem not to be found) - in theory if you de-install everything and re-install from scratch, and do it in a certain order, it works fine. (I just turn events off, they're annoying anyway... Cybershy knows the actual order if you care.)

              I just deleted it instead. No intention to re-install.

                Too bad I can't delete windows and not reinstall it without excessive complications Some of the bugs I get make me want to...

                    Excuse me for this minor correction. They sucked starting with Civ 3. They can kiss my lilly white ass.

                      That's not fair. Civ4 is an awesome game. It's just BtS that's a piece of bloatware.

                        I'd say they succeeded then Given that lots of people consider BtS the best part of the game (patch issues aside), the modular expansion method works nicely (since you can just play Civ4+Warlords)

                          Patch issues aside? Why? It means that, again, they rushed it to market.
                          Next time you buy a new car and it has to go to the shop immediately, think of it as a patch.

                              That's bad. A new car? That's the comparison, buying new and having patches. Not older. Brand damned new. Civ 3 had an immediate 75 MB patch and was strictly SP. Well, kiss my ass.
