I'm in a curious position myself.
Technically I must be old and 'over the hill', but Father Time has been good to me so it's not currently an issue and I don't ever see it becoming one.
Oerdin's problem appears to be a combination of a lack of imagination in one department (bedroom), and an overactive one in another (grass is greener syndrome).
In fact, I think Oerdin feels his 'natural state' is one of being a committed bachelor - but that he's not got the confidence in his physical prowess anymore to be able to lead that lifestyle...
