That can be accomplished just as easily as raising the age to 18.

In fact with the close in age exemption, there really isn't a good argument against your position of raising them both to the same.

Yes, but that's not the way he supports doing it.

Your argument is essentially: you said you support X, so you must support every possible method for achieving X!

Raising both ages to 150 as Q^3 suggests would also equalize them.

Actually, with the close in age exemption I think that 18 or even 20 would be a good idea. Maybe make the close in age exception a sliding scale also (within (age-8)/2 of the younger party being OK).

I could actually sort of see making homosexual age of consent be 16 and hetero age of consent be 18. But it makes more sense to make it equal than to split it, and it should obviously be the higher age.
