During the early AIDS crisis, there were a whole range of institutions and numerous individuals in positions of responsibility and power to immediately take vigorous action against the emerging AIDS threat.
Here's the difference between my perspective on the AIDS crisis from Wright's perspective: Wright says that the federal government DELIBERATELY INTRODUCED AIDS into United States as program of extermination of blacks.
I have never believed that the Reagan administration INTRODUCED the AIDS virus into United States with intent of exterminating gay people. What I believe, is that the Reagan administration, along with a myriad of other powerful individuals and institutions (some within the gay community at the time) shares blame for willful negligence in taking vigorous action against the early AIDS crisis and that homophobic bigotry was one of the motivations for such willful negligence among some of these people and institutions.
Yet, I do NOT argue that the Reagain administration took it upon itself to actually introduce the AIDS virus into United States, in the first place, with conscious intent of exterminating gay people.

So what, ignore crazy because other people are crazy too?
Hillary Clinton says she wants to bomb Iran so that Jews will vote for her.
If they nuke someone everyone is going to want to nuke them, so who cares?
The problem is that most Americans simply cannot stand a guy, especially a black guy, who gets up and tells the truth about the bad behaviour of his own country and doesn't pull punches.
Yep, that's it, people are focusing on the AIDS thing because they can't handle him telling truth to power.
Do you really believe the stuff you post?
You're getting desperate, Imran. Your problem with white is that you see him as an "uppity negro" who's exercise of his own free speech rights is spoiling the chances of your favourite oreo getting elected.
Reverend Wright actually helps people with HIV. Plenty of people have one or two odd beliefs, but not all of them are loud and black, eh? Gotta wonder whether that's a dunce's cap the white folks are wearing... or...

One problem here: Imran doesn't support Obama. He is, last I checked, a Hillary supporter.
This looks like it has destroyed the Democrats' campaign already. If Obama is the nominee, the Republicans will paint him as Malcolm X (as if Obama is anywhere near the man Malcolm X was), but if Hillary is the nominee a lot of black voters will stay away from sheer disgust at the way the media treated this and sheer disgust at Hillary's race baiting.
Indeed... when he starts with the really ridiculous strawmen you know Aggie is reaching the end of his rope.

I didn't realize that completely lying about genocide makes one an "uppity negro", but then again who better to know about black people than a Kiwi living in Canada. The only way you could be any whiter is if you took a post in Iceland.
As for the "favorite oreo", a) Obama is half WHITE, so I'd imagine he'd be conflicted about his identity, b) as Kuci points out, I'd like nothing better than Obama to be deep sixed, I back Clinton... you could take one look a my sig to notice that... and I think I've made clear that if Obama wins, I'll probably go with McCain.
And the utterly bizarre belief that the only reason people are going after Wright is because he's black... and not for the fact that he accused the US government of releasing the AIDS virus as a form of genocide against black people.

But you have to go after every white, asain hispanic etc conspiracy nut equally and not be biased, otherwise you are being racist, Imran
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

They are going after him because he's black, so your point is moot. Jon Stewart had an excellent piece of editorial about this the other night. As I said, they are going after him because he told the truth about other things, not because of things he was wrong about.
Hell, the "chickens coming home to roost" thing was said by a white guy, an ambassador no less.
Obama is pathetic. He wants to be the President so bad, he's willing to sell out his own friends. I guess that makes him no worse than the other candidates, but its a sign of how pathetic your country has become.
The comment that Obama was lying to people isn't something a friend would say in such a situation.
