thx for that Ramo, informative reading...and I stand corrected. Well, it was just a suspicion and not an accusation. I dont know why I'm defending Wright, maybe its just the way the media smeared him by repeating a few clips. Like his life is defined by a few statements...

I watched the press club speech and I watched his address to the NAACP. I don't think that you, or most of the US media for that matter, understand how badly Wright just owned all of you.

People are calling him a racist and so on, yet the central point of both speeches was that to overcome racism we have to accept that people are different without seeing them as being deficient. He must have repeated that comment 30 or 40 times. He even gave (with full performances) examples of the differences between black and white music. It's different, but not deficient (Jazz is awesome). I don't think any reasonable person could disagree with him.

The media and most of white America prides itself on being free of prejudice. Wright knows this isn't true.

We can see this because many of the comments about Wright's speeches criticized his behaviour as improper, strange, obstreperous and downright weird. Except it isn't if you're speaking to a black audience (compare the differences between behaviour at many black and white churches, for example). Sure it is a different manner of public address, but that doesn't mean it is necessarily deficient. Yet along come the press and basically say that his whole attitude is wrong and deficient. But it isn't just Wright's attitude. That is how much of the black community does these things (the guy who introduced him at the NAACP was even louder and more emotional than he was).

The way the press reacted to these speeches essentially proved Wright's point. He must be laughing his ass off. He said it over and over again, and they still don't get it. All of them refuse to accept that his method of public address is simply different and not deficient. In one fell stroke he's exposed their prejudice and they fell for it.

Jeremiah Wright may suspect that the US authorities had a hand in the AIDS epidemic (and they have pulled **** like that before with black people, so it isn't a completely wild theory), but he does far more than most people to help those suffering with HIV.

The problem is that most Americans simply cannot stand a guy, especially a black guy, who gets up and tells the truth about the bad behaviour of his own country and doesn't pull punches. People are jumping on the HIV stuff because they can use it to get revenge on him for all the true stuff he says that makes them uncomfortable.

It's hilarious. I hope Obama pays for his fakery.
