This is the thing I really don't get. There's ALWAYS someone watching on Poly, so whats the point of deleting a thread unless it is hyper offensive? People always notice.

Ming, oh boy we run into ground here, i think at heart hes a decent enough fella, but he makes some diabolical moderation decisions, and either loves the ****fires he starts or is totally incapable of seeing any error on his part ever !
Ive wanted to spark this fella out myself on occasion,( you can label me a coward if it helps ya but i think im big enough to deal with him) and the list of whose threatened me with this and that is a petty tactic to win the high ground. It may be true but it has nothing to do with me ! There simply is no reasoning with this man when he gets into one, it may be a one approach to fit all comers strategy but it sucks bigtime.
I have seen him make many good calls too, and I must say that in honesty, and I believe he cares about this site. Just needs to learn that you reap what you sow.

Locutus, well people say hes a techie or whatever that is, **** im a brickie but i dont piss off as many people as he does. Being an asset to this site as a techie does not mean he has the required skills to moderate, he is an arse, big time, ive seen his performances first hand several times, absolutely zero people skills. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, use Locutus where he is strongest and keep him away from the modding team !

2) Permaban Asher.

The way I see it, if you cannot manage the first option, you should go ahead with the second, because Asher isn't going to change. Therefore, every so often he'll get banned and there will be "free Asher!" and "not fair!" cries of varying validity. There will be much wailing, rending of garments and gnashing of teeth. And it will be annoying.

Yep, I agree with this. I don't see why poly is better off for having him here.

In fact I see this whole drama as pretty silly. Poster goes off the rails. Gets banned. Recruits a whole bunch of his friends to complain about it here.

Honestly, this has gone on way to long. I don't think Rah should have to feel that the posters here NEED a place to rant about the site.

They should just be thankful that this site is here and it's up and running. I like the site. I can't say that I've really contributed all that much to how it runs and works behind the scene, but I've been here a long time now, (although not nearly as long as some).

I can't say I've found it to be a problem to get along with the folks here. I agree that Asher goes out of his way to provoke people (ie, starting threads in the sports forum just to bash people), it's his nature. Everywhere I've been he has done the exact same behaviour.

Maybe something like this would spur him to reasses the way he treats other people here.

The thing is, if this site rules were respected constantly, and equaly for everyone, and most Mods had people skillz like Rah i.e., and attention to detail was more important than Polycast for example and the efforts were put in the right places, like covering good games like...I dont know...STARCRAFT II?!??!, maybe this site would get back to what it used to be...

The reasons I was given for why Asher was banned didn't seem reasonable to me. If Asher doesn't see valid reasons in why he's getting banned, then he won't be any different should he chose to come back.

And posters trying to attack Locutus doesn't really change the fact that without banning asher this thread wouldn't be here.

It's a fact that Asher has run many posters over roughshod, and I'm one of them.

I'm not shedding any tears that he's gone. I think this site is run well, and that the folks here who think they are complaining about the 'way the site runs' are just kidding themselves.

I agree with Locutus. I think he should have banned Asher, and I think the reasons he gave are valid.

Go ahead and flame me spec, I don't really care.
