The best part? They food also included bananas.
I can't believe it. THe head of the department (a very busy man, you can't even go to his office, you go through her secretary, even if you are staff) came to my place worried and gave me basically bananas.
That's kind of cool actually To be honest, it was extremely akward and uncomfortable, but at the same time it makes a difference in my mind. I've felt so isolated and rejected that even this makes me feel a bit better. It's sort of embarrasing, and I had my survivor beard and everything, jsut a messy guy I was... and he was more like wtf happened to you dude, maybe he thought I was actually drinking my own urine at this point but you know... got some coffee, food... bananas too. I told him some things that are my problem adn basically money is one of them so he just you know... I think he offered to help with the medicine cost if I need help. So now I'm the guy who is always asked "dude, did you remember to take your medicine?".
**** it.
I know it's the saddest thing ever to be grateful for human contact in that way but I don't care what you think about it, it still meant a lot to me. I said I'm lonely damn it. He even brought his secretary, I mean come on
But the point is, I actually think it showed that I matter as a worker there. The big boss came down to give me bananas, out of office hours. That's sort of not very usual. I just think it was kind of nice.
