  • The Mad Monk Has Bought The Farm

I just signed thirty years of my life away!

I have so much work to do on EVERYTHING!!!

OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!?!?

It's a little white house with a little white shop building, a little pond, a little fishing pier, little stretch of woods, a little hayfield, and a couple really big trees on nine acres in Leavenworth County, Kansas, just a little outside Kansas City.

While walking around the property, I discovered a five gallon pail filled with rainwater and decaying leaves, so I kicked it over.

I'll post photos when I can.

    P.S.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

    Congrats

Did you get it on fixed or variable interest rate?

        Thanks.

Fixed rate, good price. It started at 250, I got it for 195, and since I intend to spend the rest of my life here (gonna turn the hay field into an orchard), further price drops don't worry me.

$195 isn't bad at all. In fact there is very little room for it to go down much at all.

Very nice I'm in Kansas City relatively often (GF's parents live in Marceline, 2.5hrs out, and her brother lives in Blue Springs, a southern suburb), maybe I'll come by and help with apple picking at some point

                    Congrats
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Wow! I know someone with the same handle who just bought a house in Kansas. What are the odds?
