As Zkrib said, she would be just a pen pal. Now that she's all excited thinking she'll have a pen pal I'll be posting some pics here to get her one (shouldn't be too difficult) so if you change your mind back, sing out.

Zkrib, this is our beach place forever but I have a property for sale not too far up the road. If I can sell that I'll use the $ to buy another property, build a house on it and flip it to a westerner. Already spoke to some of the guys about it and they're ready to work anytime. This sort of thing would keep me busy long term.

The problem here is that real estate agencys are nil. One has to canvas to find property. This prop was the first we found last trip and it took 2 months to find. Property tends to stay in families forever.

I'll post this then get into more questions. Soon I gotta run out the door with the truck tho.

            3. How are property rights in the Philliphines? How long did it take from you buying the land to registering it as yours. Lot of paperwork?

            4. How big is your parcel in sqare meters?

            5. Did you take out a building permit?

            6. How is the bathroom waste disposal solved? Off to the sea?

            7. What kind of utilities can you get? Electricity? Phone line? Gas? Water? Sewer?
            1) I'll tell the guys, they'll be happy you think so.

            2) It doesn't freeze here, no mesh needed. There will be a grid of rebar however.

            3) What Zkrib said. Plus you could take a 99 year lease iirc. Mine is in Dolores name and she is mine forever. Another nice thing about Filipinas. If she were to pass on then the prop is mine but it must pass from me to a Filipino...or something like that. I've also read that I have a year to sell.

I'll pick this up this evening, the truck she waits!

One was called "Randy" because...er...he was.
"Murphy" was named after "Murphy's Law," everything that could go wrong with a cat, did.
"Geronimo" loved to leap onto people's feet, as if he were a paratrooper.

What kind of personality does this cat have? Just from the pics, he looks like a "Majesty."

                      4) I think it's 160 iirc.

                      5) No, that stuff is loose and easy here. When we get back next January God willing we'll need one for the second floor.

                      6) The toilet 'black water' goes to a septic tank we built out of hollow block. The grey water, showers, sinks, go to the ocean.

                      7) Electric is 220. The first thing we did was to have a pole put in and a line run to our existing salacot. Phone is out there when we want it but now the phone at our house in Jagna is enough. Gas for cooking can be bought only in tanks, no lines in the street. Water is available, plentiful there in Garcia Hernandez. Zkrib and Theben can attest to that since Badiang Springs is there. Theben can even tell you how hard the water is. ...a reference to a certain belly flop we shall not mention. There is a pipe in the street we had a local plumber tap into. For drinking there is a bottled water service that will bring 5 gallons for a bit over a buck. No sewer.

                      I took pics coming up.

                      • The water meter at the property.

There's a pipe under the street to carry run off to the ocean. The water pipes run through them.

The tie in on the other side of the street.

The purpose is to get to know the other person. I had 5 pen pals, 4 in this town and some knew each other. When I finally decided on Dolores who wasn't a pen pal one of them went to Dolores and told her off. Dolores didn't care, she's easy going. Best decision I ever made. These women love romance, they think white is beautiful, and they treat a guy like he's solid gold. They want a loving husband. It's a no brainer in my book, but whatever. As far as the job goes, I don't recall ever having a good job in my whole life.

If Ruth comes to the beach on Sunday I'll get some pics. Somebody will write to her. She's got a degree in elementary education but works as a receptionist 5 days a week. Sunday she often has family stuff to do, helping out. So we'll see.

Went to buy stuff to cook for lunch, took a couple pics at the marcado.
