I'm suprised they weren't shot down that close to such an expensive ship.
Because we are not at war with them. Iran over flies our ships pretty much everyday, btw.

Russia resumed long-range bomber flights last August, in a move regarded as a flexing of military muscle.
You guys missed the truely sensational part. Russian military planes FLYING!!!! Man, that takes me back...

The Belgians make chocolate, the Russians trouble. It's what they do, what comes natural. It's why you put missiles in eastern europe and Belgian chocolates on your shopping list.

Nah, Dubya will just say we did though.

A couple of years ago our jets made pics of the deck of such ship with no response from interceptors at all. A month or so ago a Norwegian oil company stopped its helicopter flights to one of their oil drilling platforms, because their radars couldn't detect jets from the Russian aircraft carrier.

FOF. We fly where we want to fly. You have not bought the air over you aircraft carriers.

We have if we are operating aircraft, as well as the sea space around us. Read your Rules of the Road.

Safety trumps useless and inevitable counter productive wannabe prestiege sorties.

Good for us then. Ignorance and arrogance of your enemy is a virtue.

Just a month ago Russian ASW ships detected and "destroyed" a foreign submarine that tried to approach a Russian aircraft carrier too close during its Mediterranean/Atlantic exercises. Guess whose submarine that was?

Why? Is it ok for us to shot down your planes/subs whenever they try to do the same?

I am sure some general will get another useless trinket medal to pin next to the other 100 already hanging there for similar "amazing" feats.
