(Though us Americans are starting to catch up with you in this regard...)
These are two WW2 veteran colonels, you moron.

So you are ready to start the WW3 because of routine "time of response" checks?

Just think how many they have by now.

          1) They fought in WW2 which ended 62 years ago.
          2) Both of you have no idea about the Soviet/Russian military etiquette (to begin with they are colonels, bot generals). Their combat decorations located on the right side of their chests. The medals on the left side are non-combat military decorations. It's pretty hard to explain the meaning of that kind of decorations, so I won't.

So? Does that make them look any less gawdy, or half those awards not give aways? Have some class and make a Medal of Honor equivalent. Hell, our veterans got ONE WWII victory medal.

So, as suspected, just mindless bling. The US has those types of awards too but they are merely ribbons and they do not come with full medals. And yes in many cases they are handed out like candy.

Those would be routine in the 80's when we were enemies. Now they are just childish and useless. We don't even do that stuff to Iran.

62 years to get even more medals. I understand perfectly.

The decorations on the left side of their chest are not given nowdays. It's more like memorable mention that they participated in some kind of military event. f.e. a medal dedicated to the anniversary of major victory, etc.
Their combat decorations, deserved at the battlefield located on the right side of their chests.

You think the military decorations on the chest of f.e. this guy are all combat-earned?

Bashing people who effing fought against the Nazis is, frankly speaking, a sign of mental retardation. Well, Serb has already said that.
                      Show them some respect.

I wonder how many helicopters it would take along the whole of Canada, to pick up Canada and drop it on Russia?

These medals also come with matching ribbons, which you wear on your service uniform. But you can plainly see these two fine gentlemen are long out of service and this is their parade uniform.

I have to admit I do like your military cemeteries more than ours.

Indeed. I'm suprised no one has noticed how many of those planes and weapons on these ships are actually a combination of balloons and cardboard cut outs. Only real reason to keep telling people just a little farther and you'll be shot at and never follow through.

And here I was just thinking that things between the US and Russia were pretty dull. Unfortunately our navy still has some cooler heads in charge so no exciting headlines this month.
